Dear Professor S, I am a master student under supervision of Professor J, who told me that you were looking for a Ph.D. student with a biochemical or molecular biology background. I am greatly interested in this opportunity, and that is why I am writing to you. During undergraduate study, I was well exposed to biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology and proteomics. In the second year of undergraduate study, I participated in the University’s program of student scientific innovation, and was actively involved as a student team leader in the projects of gene engineering and antibody engineering.
