[交流] 帖一个NSF的评审标准，同时为自己的青基祈福！已有15人参与

Belows are the reviewing guidelines:

“What is the intellectual merit of the proposed activity?”

-  Does the proposal have a sound approach to establish technical and commercial feasibility?

-  Does the proposal suggest and explore unique or ingenious concepts or applications? Please note that an innovation can be interpreted as providing a novel commercial product to the marketplace that meets a critical need.

-  Does the team have the qualifications to carry out the work plan?

-  Does the company have sufficient access to resources, such as materials, supplies, analytical services, equipment, facilities, etc., to carry out the work plan?

-  Does the proposed project reflect revolutionary advances in the field?

“What are the broader impacts of the proposed activity?”

-  What would be the commercial and/or societal benefits of this project, if successful?

-  Would this project lead to a marketable product or process?

-  What is the competitive advantage of the proposed concept?

-  Could this project lead to enabling technologies?

-  If successful, could this project attract funding from non-SBIR sources?

-  Does the business team possess the relevant skills to commercialize the proposed innovation?

-  If the company has received previous SBIR or STTR funding, please review the Company’s Commercialization History (found in the Supplementary Documents module) and comment on the percentage of the revenues from previous SBIR/STTR funding.

-  If the project broadens the participation of underrepresented groups, please comment on it.

“Summary Statement”

-  Summarize your overall evaluation of the proposal.

I would also like to list the funding criteria of NSF SBIR/STTR program as below for your reference.

-  Must be high-risk and high-payback innovations with high commercial potentials.

-  Demonstrate strategic partnerships with research collaborators, customers and equity investors.

NSF do NOT fund,

-  Basic research projects.

-  Evolutionary optimization of existing products and processes or modifications to broaden the scope of an existing product, process or application.

-  Analytical or market studies of technologies.

-  Clinical trials.
