When dehydration occured in layers, the nanotubes was under axial force, the tube shape can remain stable.When dehydration occured between layers, the nanotubes was under radial force, thus they will collapse to fracture. Ni(N03)3 decomposed in the nanotubes when Ti-O bond was formed in dehydration between layers, then NiO was formed by accumulation. If the diameter of NiO increased closely to that of the nanotubes, it will bring about a support force to offset compression stress so as to avoid the collapse. |
