[交流] 【小组】每周英语翻译学习交流第七期——“译”气呵成已有17人参与

外语版英语翻译学习交流板块正式启动了。欢迎虫友积极参与活动。本活动旨在提高大家英语兴趣，提高英语翻译水平，本活动每周一期，周六结束。活动初期每周日出翻译题目。鼓励原创，参加者将会得到1-10金币的奖励，网上抄袭不会得到奖励，并每周评选优秀翻译者再额外奖励！

活动宗旨：提高广大虫友的科研文章阅读能力。
活动对象：想提高自己的阅读文献能力或英语文章的能力，想提高英语水平又没有 自我约束能力的虫友。
活动时间：每周日评出优秀译者，每周一发布下一期。
学习的目的是为了应用，而应用的前提是掌握。借此平台，希望可以为大家服务，为大家提供一个练习和检验的机会，希望广大虫友踊跃参加。另外如果有什么好的建议，请及时的告诉我或者是跟帖。非常的感谢，愿我们共同进步！

The Chinese themselves were bitterly divided over how to response to the Western inroads, whether to reach back to Chinese isolation or reach out to Western technology in the hope of gaining sufficient strength to repel the foreigners. But even those who argued for adoption of Western technology saw Western ways as a corrupting, unwelcome influence.

如何对待西风渐进，中国国内在痛苦的抉择，不论是回到闭关锁国派，还是接受西方技术增强对抗外国的力量派。即使是争议说要采纳西方技术的人，也认为西方的道路是腐朽的，其影响是不受欢迎的。
When I visited Chinese first time in 1972,  as soon as I  got off the plane, Premier Zhou Enlai shook hands with me. This handshakes marked a new era in the relation between Sino-US. After then Zhou told to me " Your handshakes came over the longest distance- crossing 25 years of no communication.

如何应对西方侵入的问题中国内部都存在分歧，是否达到了隔离中国或希望得到西方的技术，从而有足够的力量击退外国人。但是，即使那些仍然主张把采用西方技术看成是腐败，不受欢迎的影响的途径。

When  first visited China in 1972 , I get off the plane, and I shook hands with Premier Zhou Enlai, the handshake has opened a new era in Sino-US relations. Premier zhou told me later, "Your handshake across the world's most remote distance - across the 25 years of no communication."

中国内部就如何应对西方国家突如其来的外交接触引起了巨大的分歧：是否退缩回到孤立的局面，还是开放接触西方的科技以获取足够的实力反过来抵制外国人。但就算是那些赞成接纳西方科技的人还是把西方国家的行事作风视为一种腐败和对中国不良的影响。

汉译英：
I visited China for the first time back in 1972. When I walked down from the plane, Prime Minister Zhou Enlai shook my hand. That started a new era of the relationship between the United States and China. Later Zhou told me that, "The hand that I have just shaken is coming over the longest distance in the world, over the 25 years of no communication.”
