THREE PhD SCHOLARSHIPS IN Australia

Queensland Unversity of Technology THREE PhD SCHOLARSHIPS IN Structural Engineering/ Materials or Mechanical Engineering $30,000 (Tax Free) per annum for 3 Years Applications are sought from qualified civil/ materials/ mechanical engineering graduates for PhD scholarships of A$30,000 (Tax Free) per annum for three years. Two of these scholarships are funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC) and the third is funded by the Co-operative Research Centre (CRC). Applicants with excellent UG academic record who have a passion for understanding the behaviour and failure of materials and structures under loading are particularly sought. Possession of research or course work master qualification in structural and/ or materials engineering and authoring peer reviewed publications will be an advantage. The PhD students will join a vibrant and caring team of academics and industry partners. The PhD topics are: (1) Characterisation of adhesive-concrete block bond (Supervisors: A/Prof. C. Yan & Prof. M. Dhanasekar) (2) Thin bed masonry structural shear walls (Supervisors: Prof. M. Dhanasekar & Dr. M. Murray) (3) Behaviour of Prestressed Concrete Sleepers in Heavy Haul Railway Track (Supervisors: Dr. M. Murray & Prof. M.
