SDIM Invites Talents from Domestic and Abroad to Create a Pioneer in Higher Engineering Education Reform at SUSTech The GD, HK& Macao Great Bay Area (hereafter the Greater Bay) is the strategic area of the new round of national development planning. As an important member of the Great Bay Area, Shenzhen has been given a more arduous historical mission in the new round of reform and opening up. Recruitment Information The School of System Design and Intelligent Manufacturing is a multidisciplinary school in Southern University of Science and Technology with diversified specialties in design, intelligent manufacturing, computer engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science and engineering, and system management. Post Specification (10 posts) Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in following areas: 1)Design: product design/human-centered and experience design/interactive design/media design/product system design (3 posts); 2)Mechanical Engineering: solid-structural mechanics/fluid mechanics/fluid-structure interaction/aerodynamics/computational mechanics/thermodynamics/heat transfer (2 posts); 3)Intelligent Manufacturing: control and optimization/robotics/factory automation/cyber-physical systems/distributed systems/autonomous systems (1 post); 4)Electrical and Electronics Engineering: physical and MEMS sensing, chemical sensing, biometric and biomedical sensing, multi-physics/multi-modal sensor simulation, computational sensing, sensor network and sensor fusion (1 post); 5)Computer Engineering: computer architecture, communication and information theory, distributed systems, network optimization, machine learning, fog and edge computing, signal processing (1 post); 6)Materials Science and Engineering: functional materials/soft materials/conducting polymer sensors/functional magnetic materials/metamaterials (1 post); 7)System Management: management science/industrial engineering/operations research/systems and control/optimization/decision science (1 post). Duties The appointee will be required to: 1)conduct lectures, practical sessions and tutorials at postgraduate and undergraduate levels in related disciplines with new engineering education methodology; 2)supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students; 3)establish a vigorous research programme at the cutting edge of related disciplinary, and engage in other scholarly activities; 4)contribute to school and programme administration as well as curriculum development; 5)perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of School or his/her delegates. Qualifications Applicants should: 1)have a PhD degree in related disciplines; 2)have relevant post-qualification experience in teaching and research; 3)have an excellent publication record in peer-reviewed international journals; For the posts in Design, the qualifications include: applicants should have Master’s or PhD in Design; a relevant professional qualification plus extensive industrial experience in product design and development.
