technical approach The contents of Pd and Cd in ten kinds of Chinese medicines have been measured and the relationship between Pd and Cd contents and side effects has been discussed. For the determination of Pd and Cd contents, plasma emission spectrometry is preferred because it is highly selective to both elements. |

ICP-AES method was applied to detect their concentrations for highly selective to both of them. |
