Mantel Test Data Format The Mantel Test is designed to determine if there is a significant relationship between two distance matrices.Consider the following two 4×4 matrices. Matrix #1 0 1 6 4 1 0 5 1 6 5 0 3 4 1 3 0 Matrix #2 0 2 3 4 2 0 5 6 3 5 0 3 4 6 3 0 Because any distance matrix should be symmetrical,and because the diagonal elements of each matrix should be zero,only information regarding elements of the off-diagonal half-matrix(the underlined numbers shown aboved)should be present in the data set.Construction of the data set involves pairing congruent elements from each data set with infotmation related to the position of the elemets within their respective matrices. So,for example, the aboved two matrices will become the following Mantel Test data set. The first two digits of each line in the data set describe the row and column for each element of the two matrices while the second two numbers are the elements of the two matrices being compared. 1,2, 1,2 1,3, 6,3 1,4, 4,4 2,3, 5,5 2,4, 1,6 3,4, 3,3 0,0, 0,0 Note that the last line of the data set needs to be a line of null values.Also note that the matrix row identified in the first column in the data set is ALWAYS smaller than the corresponding matrix column identified in the second column of the data set.This means that the diagonal values from each matrix should not be entered in the data set. IMPORTANT：The program assumes that the two matrices are of equal size and that there are no missing data points. IMPORTANT：A new data set needs a valid file name before an analysis can be conducted. Note that the last line of the data set needs to be a line of null values.Also note that the matrix row identified in the first column in the data set is ALWAYS smaller than the corresponding matrix column identified in the second column of the data set. 注意数据集的最后一行应为空值。还需注意数据集中第一列所确定的矩阵行值必须小于相应矩阵第二列所确定的行值。 |
