Cell process development Senior Scientist

The Scientist, will be responsible for the manufacturing process development and technology transfer of cell and gene therapy programs. He/she will be part of the team responsible for CAR-T process development and validation for autologous and allogeneic cell therapy products. The candidate will be involved in the design, execution and optimization of experiments in a cross-functional matrix team. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Accountable for development, optimization and execution of new and next generation CAR-T programs
• Develop and identify analytical assays to characterize manufacturing process
• Provide technical leadership to others and make decision to set direction for a project
• Work in a team environment as well as contribute individually to meet project timeline and objectives
• Write and review protocols, technical reports, regulatory documents and memos to summarize experiments and investigations
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to evaluate and implement process improvements
• Interact with cross-functional internal team members and stakeholders
• Foster a working environment that encourages the company's commitment to equal employment opportunity and the value of a diverse work force
• Other duties will be assigned, as necessary

Qualifications
• PhD in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry or Immunology OR MS in Biological Sciences or Biochemistry and with at least 3 years of industry experience.
• Expertise with primary T-cell culture, viral and non-viral gene delivery methods and cell based functional assays is required.
• Background in T-cell biology and immunology is preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge in process development and tech transfer of cell therapy products is preferred.
• Prior industry and/or experience working in a GMP environment is preferred.
• Independently design, execute and troubleshoot experiments, analyze, report and present data.
• Candidates must be detail-oriented, highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks, handle tight timelines and deliver quality data
• Experience in maintaining written records of work in the form of laboratory notebooks (paper or electronic) and establishing lab protocols/SOPs is required.
• Have deep intellectual curiosity, and excellent communication, interpersonal and collaborative skills.
• Provide functional and intellectual support to team members.
• Must be comfortable handling and processing blood or serum samples.
• Occasional weekend work may be required.
