Table 3 summarizes the frequencies of intercopy chimeric molecule formation as a result of 25, 30, and 35 cycles of PCR amplification; frequencies of 8.8, 11.1, and15.5% were observed, respectively. Table 3 also shows that the ratios of type II to type I 16S rDNA clones ranged from 2 to 4. A statistical analysis showed that it is highly unlikely that the skewed representation of clones with the two types of 16S rRNA genes could have resulted from unbiased amplification。 |
