2017英国诺丁汉大学劳斯莱斯大学技术中心PhD招聘

Dear All, Following the expansion of the Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre (UTC) in Manufacturing and On-Wing Technology we are seeking to employ PhD students sponsored by Rolls-Royce. The PhD scholarships are related to the following areas: 1) Development of specialist robotic system to support in-situ repair/maintenance of gas turbine engines; possible topics: design/manufacture of mechatronics, modelling of kinematics/dynamics of robots 2) Teleoperation and control of robotic systems to enable their operation from long-distances; possible topics: robotics analysis, control of robots, programming Note: for robotics please see the previous work related to this area:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qpu5ixz9a5c; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUNWuGmMmW4; 3) Machining of advanced Ni-based and composite materials for aero-engine applications; possible topics: experimental analysis/modelling of machining and surface integrity. 4) Waterjet machining of stratified aerospace materials; possible topics: modelling of controlled erosion, jet path planning and surface integrity. The PhD studentships being sponsored by Rolls-Royce will result in the benefit of having close relationship with the company; you will also be assigned an industrial supervisor. This will also result in training in RR as per technical requirements of the projects. The PhD positions are available only for outstanding 1st class NON-UK/EU students with a mechanical/manufacturing/mechatronics/robotics background who could start on Oct. 2017.
