The benzoxazole compounds have a unique π-conjugated structure. When the nitrogen on the nitrogen heterocyclic ring connected to 2-hydroxyphenyl, a strong fluorescence phenomenon occurred, such as 2- (2'-hydroxyphenyl) benzimidazole (HBI)
2. This is because that in such compounds the phenolic hydroxyl groups are linked to other heteroatoms (e.g., nitrogen) via intramolecular hydrogen bonds.
