The 8th International Conference on Internet Multimedia Computing and Service (ICIMCS 2016) will be held from August 19 - 21, 2016 at Xi’an, China. Xi’an was the capital city of several most important dynasties in Chinese history such as Zhou, Qin, Han, Sui, and Tang, and has the richest cultural and historical heritages, including the world famous Terra Cotta, Big Goose Pagoda, Royal Family’s Bathroom, etc. The three-day conference will include invited keynotes, oral and poster presentations.

ICIMCS 2016 will serve as an international forum to bring together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to discuss cutting-edge research on state-of-the-art of internet multimedia processing, multimedia service, analysis and applications. The conference calls for research papers reporting original investigation results and industrial track papers reporting real multimedia applications and system development experiences. The conference also calls for special session proposals focusing on specific emerging topics in the multimedia area.

ICIMCS 2016 is seeking high quality submissions in the broad field of multimedia. The topics of interests include, but are not limited to the following.

      Large-scale multimedia analysis and retrieval

      Multimedia systems and applications

      Web scale multimedia annotation and classification

      Multimedia communications, transmission, and system

      Multimedia quality assessment

      3D media, virtual and augmented reality

      Interactive media and HCI

      Mobile multimedia computing

      Social multimedia analysis and application

      Computer vision/machine learning for multimedia application

All paper submissions will be peer-reviewed in a strict review process to ensure maximum quality. The conference proceedings will be published by ACM and all accepted papers will be included in the ACM digital library. Previous ICIMCS papers have all been indexed by EI. High quality papers will be recommended to the special issue of IJMIR (SCI-indexed) this year. A "Best Paper Award" and a "Best Student Paper Award" will be conferred to the author(s) of a full paper presented at the conference, selected by the award committee based on the marks of paper reviewing assessed by the Program Committee, and paper presentation quality assessed by session chairs at the conference venue.
