Dr. Peng Wei is an Assistant Professor in Iowa State University. He received his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from Purdue University and his bachelor degree in Automation from Tsinghua University. http://www.aere.iastate.edu/~pwei The methodologies of Dr. Peng Wei's research include Control, Optimization, Machine Learning and Decision Making under Uncertainty. The application of his research is focused on developing Intelligent Aerospace Systems for: - UAS Traffic Management (UTM) and Low-altitude Airspace Operations - Air Traffic Management (ATM) including en-route, near-terminal and surface - Airline Operations including flight planning and dispatching He has been publishing extensively in top transportation, optimization, control and aerospace journals and conferences. His research was featured in TIME Magazine Cover Story. Dr. Wei's collaborations include: 1. Government research agencies and government consulting agencies such as NASA, FAA, MIT-Lincoln Lab, NCAR, MITRE, LMI, Booz Allen Hamilton etc. 2. Industry partners such as American Airlines, Rockwell Collins, Uber, Amazon, Airmap etc. Dr. Wei has 1 Ph.D. position and 1 M.S. position available for 2016 Fall, both of which will be supported as graduate research assistant. Students with excellent mathematical background and strong programming skills are encouraged to apply, especially with strong background in control, optimization, machine learning and artificial intelligence.
