随着科学技术的不断进步，电子元器件正向着小型化，轻量化的方向发展，这意味着便携式（portable）电子产品在军用，民用，航海通讯等领域的应用空间将会被不断拓展。但是，由于传统的供电设备――蓄电池——目前依然存在着体积大，使用寿命有限，需不时充电等缺点，使得便携式电子产品的应用受到很大的制约。如果蓄电池能随时随地将外界的机械能转换成电能，相信会是解决低能耗便携式电子产品能量来源问题的一个有效方法。 [ Last edited by ZANCAI on 2008-10-10 at 15:04 ] |

| However, traditional power supply equipment--batteries------still exsisting some short comings, such as big volume, limited life span, needing to take charge from time to time, etc. greatly constrains the portable electronic products application.
