Thank you for your recent submission to ****. Although the editors think the paper addresses a potentially interesting topic they have concerns about some aspects of the paper. As a result, I am sorry to inform you that we will not be sending your paper to reviewers.

This article on***is on a potentially interesting topic for the journal but fails to engage with the rich existing literature on this topic in order to provide a contribution to contemporary regional studies. As it stands, it is primarily a case study application of existing approaches to understanding specialization, which unfortunately does not make a significantly new contribution to the field and does not go far enough to place its findings within the wider context of research on this topic.

I realise this will be a disappointing decision but please understand that there is huge pressure for space in the journal and we are forced to be extremely selective in what we can publish.
