2. Description:
Applicants shall normally hold
(a) a Bachelor's degree with First Class Honours, or the equivalent and/or a Postgraduate/Master degree in the relevant engineering/science discipline containing a significant research component, such as a dissertation, conferred by One of Top Ranking Universities in his/her country;
(b) fundamental knowledge in the area of transport and formation of nano- to mirco-particle/aerosol pollutants in fluid flow; method of moments, particle size distribution and population balance equation etc. using CFD, LES, DNS, FLUENT, CFX etc., and user defined/developed advanced numerical codes in high-performance computing etc.

While applicants’ academic excellence is the primary consideration, other major factors such as research ability and potential, communication and interpersonal skills as well as leadership abilities will also be considered. Applicants who have not obtained a degree from a recognised university of which the language of instruction was English from a recognised university are normally required to obtain AT LEAST a score of 6.5 or above (with score for the writing component at 6.5 or above)in IELTS (International English Language Testing System); a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of 600 or above, a computer-based TOEFL (after 1998) score of 250 or above, or an internet-based TOEFL score of 90 or above.  All English language test scores are only considered valid for five years after the date of the test.

Additional consideration will be given to acceptable scores obtained in other
internationally recognised public examinations, such as GRE (Graduate Record
Examination), as deemed appropriate.
