求版友分析康奈尔导师回邮有没有希望以及应该如何回复

发出第一封套瓷信（附有CV）以后十二小时内就收到回复了原文如下： Dear xxx, Your research interests are certainly appropriate for the Cornell xxx Research Group, and I look forward to seeing more about your background, research, and preparation. You should make a formal application to our graduate program; this can be done online. If you have any questions about the process please contact xxx. Unfortunately I will be retiring soon, and am not planning to take another Ph.D student, but I am willing to consider your application nonetheless. It is also possible, if you are accepted to the program, that you could work directly with one of the other faculty here.
