PhD research and teaching assistantship positions are available in Dr. Shan Zhao's group at Department of Mathematics, University of Alabama. Dr. Zhao's group has a wide research interests in developing fast interface methods for solving partial differential equations, computational electromagnetics and optics, mathematical modeling of protein structures, and fast simulation for biomolecular systems. Qualified students should have a background in applied mathematics, computational mathematics, scientific computing, or a closely related area. Preference is given to self-motivated students who have research experience in the aforementioned areas and effective oral communication skills in English.
