| Tensile fracture analysis was adopted to further understand the effect of electroless plating on strengthening behavior of the composites. Fig. 9 presented SEM images and EDS spectra of the fracture of the composites and pure Cu. Dimples distributed on the fracture surface, illustrating a typical plastic fracture of all samples. The corresponding EDS spectra confirmed the presence of Cf after tensile tests. Fig. 9(b) showed that the Cf agglomerated heavily when they were directly added. The cracks extended along the interface before the stress could transfer from the matrix to Cf , which reduced the strength of the composite. Moreover, the agglomerates could promote the formation of pores during sintering process. Fig. 8(a) showed that the relative density of 0.5% Cf /Cu composite was 90%, suggesting a large number of porosity. Thus, the Cf acted as weak phase and reduced the mechanical property of the composite. The plated Cf uniformly distributed on the fracture surface proving that the agglomeration was inhibited efficiently by inhibition effect of electroless plating. Fig. 9(c) and (d) showed that the plated Cf were tightly embedded in the matrix or pulled out, indicating a high adhesive strength of the GNPs-matrix interface. As TEM analysis of Fig. 6 and 7, good interfacial bonding was attributed to the plated metal particles. |

首先声明，本人非高手，只因也做金属基复合材料方面的工作，且爱好翻译，故发表一下自己的看法，仅供参考。 第一句，可改为“Tensile fracture surfaces were analyzed to further ……”。首先，analysis虽为名词，但表示的仍为行为、动作，与adopt同用使整个句子复杂化；其次，从下文看，analysis基于图9中的SEM images 和EDS spectra，而这两者针对的都是fracture surfaces，单纯说tensile fracture，给人感觉像是作者在讨论拉伸断裂过程。 第二句，根据上面分析，fracture 后可加surfaces，pure Cu前加the。 第三句，可改为“Dimples can be found on all fracture surfaces, indicating all samples fractured plastically”。 第四句，after tensile tests改为on the composites fracture surfaces。 第六句，could transfer from the matrix to Cf改为could be transferred from the matrix to the Cf，另外，句子前可加accordingly，句尾的composite改为composites。 第八句，句尾加existed in the composites。 第九句，改为“Thus, when added directly, the Cf functioned as a weak ……”，句尾的composite同样变为复数。 第十句，改为“However, in composites prepared by electroless plating, plated Cf uniformly distributed on the fracture surfaces, proving the agglomeration was inhibited efficiently.”。 第十二句，改为“From TEM analysis of Fig. 6 and 7, good interfacial bonding can be attributed to the plated metal particles.” |
