| Figure 1.shows the Re(VII) diffusion by through- and out- diffusion at 2000 kg/m dry density. Symbols represent the experimental results, whereas solid and dashed lines represent the modeling results. The shaded area represents the uncertainty on the calculated curve. Through-diffusion results show that the flux vs. time curve has a typical shape with a transient and a steady state phase (Fig.1a). In the starting phase, J(L,t) increases fast and becomes constant at longer times. It takes nearly 12 days to reach the steady state. Acum increases slowly in the transient phase and evolutes linearly in the steady state phase. The value of De can be obtained from the steady state phase, whereas the values of a is obtained from the transient phase. The results are summarized in Table 2. |
