In view of the demand for seawater temperature profile measurement, this article propose a new approach- system for continuous measurement of temperature profile with fiber bragg grating sensor, after analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of existing methods. In this measurement system, the fiber grating sensor is a measurement unit, and the distributed real-time measurement is realized by using a drag chain with the wavelength division multiplexing. At the same time, we can read the physical parameters in real time by the demodulation terminal on the deck. This method can be used to obtain high resolution seawater temperature profile at low cost, and to provide a rich and effective data for the ocean survey. In this article, we design and manufacture the deck demodulation terminal and 60m long chain of towed chain system, and carry out the experiment  in Qingdao which provide a large amount of data. The results prove that the equipment has practical value.
