紧急求物理方面一句话翻译！

翻译：如果在i和j之间加上电压，则k和l是等同的暗示他们有相同的电压。 我写的是"if we apply a potential across $i$ and $j$, then $k$ and $l$ being identical implies that they have the same potential." 但是审稿人认为这句话说的稍微有些confused. 所以特向大家请教，因为自己是学数学的，对物理的术语不了解，这篇文章是投到“Journal of Physics A”的，已经接收但要小修，自己不知道这句话该怎么修改合适。下面这种说法是不是好一些？ "if we put a voltagel across $i$ and $j$, then $k$ and $l$ being identical implies that they are at the same potential." 电压是用voltage 好还是potential好?怎么说更好？ |
