The effect of different amount of copper ion loaded on active carbon surface on its adsorptive property was investigated in this paper based on using thiophene as target adsorbate, which has made some explorations to the use of modified activated carbon in adsorption desulfurization. Adsorption was a separation technology of deep desulfurization of gasoline with greatest application.
The influence of concentration on desulphurization efficiency of active carbon was researched on the base of activated carbon oxidative modified by concentrated nitric acid. The results showed that nitric acid oxidation could increase the amount of acidic groups on active carbon surface to improve the desulfurization performance. And it also indicated that the desulfurization efficiency of adsorbent roasted in N2 atmosphere was obviously superior to untreated active carbon; it showed that desulfurization efficiency of active carbon modified by loading copper ion on its surface was increased.
