The glycosidic linkages of LSPs I and II were determined by methylation method and analyzed by GC/MS. As shown in Table 4, the glycosidic linkages of LSP I were in coincidence with those of LSP II.→6)-Glc-(1→was detected in both LSPs I and II. Arabinose and fructose were found to be linked as→5)-Ara-(1→and→3)-Fru-(1→. Furthermore, the rela-tive molar percentage of each linkage was different between LSPs I and II. →3)-Gal-(1→had a higher relative molar percentage than→6)-Gal-(1→for LSP I.
