In this paper, we prepared the vaccinium bracteatum leaf extract using methods of ethanol extraction and macroreticular resin purification, explored the antioxidant activity of vaccinium bracteatum leaf extract in different systems, and conducted HPLC analysis on the major components of the extract. The results show that the vaccinium bracteatum leaf extract is of high antioxidant activity, and equals Vc in terms of the ability in scavenging DPPH free radical, and in addition, the total antioxidant capacity, reducing power, anti-lipid peroxidation ability,free radical scavenging ability are in apparent dose-effect relationship with the concentration of the sample. HPLC analysis results indicate the major components of the vaccinium bracteatum leaf extract are flavonoids compounds including isoquercitrin (267.8mg/g), quercetin (61.6mg/g), and kaempferol (98.0mg/g). |
