The effects of laser processing parameters on the quality of high-entropy alloy coating were studied. The results show that: when the laser power is too low, less energy is injected into the coating, the coating and the substrate can not form a good bonding; when the laser power is too high, the substrate surface appears excessive melting and the dilution ratio is too high, resulting in the coating properties decline. Under the condition that the coating and the substrate with a good bonding, with the increase of scanning speed the microstructure becomes fine and uniform, the corrosion resistance becomes better. The optimal process parameters for preparing Al2CoCrCuFeNiTi high-entropy alloy coating by laser cladding are, laser power P=2500 W, scanning speed V=3 mm/s, the thickness of the cladding powder d=1.0 mm, spot diameter D=4.0 mm. ©, 2015, Central South University.
