Simulation of a metamaterial beam for mechanical wave absorption ×÷Õß:Lin, GC (Lin Guo-Chang)[ 1 ] ; Sun, HW (Sun Hong-Weit)[ 1 ] ; Tan, HF (Tan Hui-Feng)[ 1 ] ; Du, XW (Du Xing-Wen)[ 1 ] ACTA PHYSICA SINICA ¾í: 60 ÆÚ: 3 ÎÄÏ׺Å: 034302 ³ö°æÄê: MAR 2011 ²é¿´ÆÚ¿¯ÐÅÏ¢ ÕªÒª In this paper, we present a metamaterial beam consisting of a uniform isotropic beam with many small mass-spring systems serving as mechanical wave absorbers. Based on the analysis of two different mass-spring systems, negative effective mass and negative effective stiffness are explained theoretically. The governing equations of a unit cell of a metamaterial beam are derived using the Hamilton' s principle. The mechanical wave absorbabilities of the following two different finite metamaterial beams are analyzed by numerical simulation: one is the bean in which mass-spring systems with linearly varying elastic coefficients are uniformly distributed, and the other is the bean in which four identical absorber subgroups composed of spring-damper subsystems with linearly varying natural frequenciesare uniformly distributed. The results reveal that the mechanical wave transmitted in the metamaterial beam is absorbed by resonating with spring-mass absorbers, which verifies the effectivity of the proposed metamaterial beam on mechanical wave absorption. ¹Ø¼ü´Ê ×÷Õ߹ؼü´Ê:metamaterial beam; negative effective mass; negative effective stiffness; mechanical wave KeyWords Plus:RESONANT SONIC MATERIALS ×÷ÕßÐÅÏ¢ ͨѶ×÷ÕßµØÖ·: Sun, HW (ͨѶ×÷Õß) ÏÔʾÔöÇ¿×éÖ¯ÐÅÏ¢µÄÃû³Æ Harbin Inst Technol, Ctr Composite Mat & Struct, Harbin 150001, Peoples R China. µØÖ·: ÏÔʾÔöÇ¿×éÖ¯ÐÅÏ¢µÄÃû³Æ [ 1 ] Harbin Inst Technol, Ctr Composite Mat & Struct, Harbin 150001, Peoples R China µç×ÓÓʼþµØÖ·:sunhw@hit.edu.cn »ù½ð×ÊÖúÖÂл »ù½ð×ÊÖú»ú¹¹ ÊÚȨºÅ National High Technology Research and Development Program 863 2008AA12A205 ²é¿´»ù½ð×ÊÖúÐÅÏ¢ ³ö°æÉÌ CHINESE PHYSICAL SOC, P O BOX 603, BEIJING 100080, PEOPLES R CHINA Àà±ð / ·ÖÀà Ñо¿·½Ïò hysicsWeb of Science Àà±ð hysics, MultidisciplinaryÎÄÏ×ÐÅÏ¢ ÎÄÏ×ÀàÐÍ:Article ÓïÖÖ:Chinese Èë²ØºÅ: WOS:000288925700056 ISSN: 1000-3290 ÆÚ¿¯ÐÅÏ¢ Impact Factor (Ó°ÏìÒò×Ó): Journal Citation Reports® ÆäËûÐÅÏ¢ IDS ºÅ: 742FC Web of Science ºËÐĺϼ¯ÖÐµÄ "ÒýÓõIJο¼ÎÄÏ×": 16 Web of Science ºËÐĺϼ¯ÖÐµÄ "±»ÒýƵ´Î": 1 |
