[交流] [求助]请问有谁成功的用DMol3模块的TS-Opt优化周期性体系的过渡态?

用LST/QST方法找到过渡态,计算完频率后,所得到的振动分析中的频率对于周期性的体系全部为0,而非周期性的体系则有具体的强度。不知道这是为什么?

用对应于反应坐标的振动模式(虚频,强度为0)来优化过渡态,一直无法收敛,请问以前有谁碰到这个问题吗?谢谢!

On the intensity, what you observed is expected.  The reason can be traced back on how DMol3 calculates the vibrational frequencies - the finite-displacement approach.  While the approach captures all the vibration modes in molecular systems (hence the intensities derived), it'll only be capable of calculating a (small) portion of essentially a continuum of vibration modes of the infinite system (of a crystal).  One will need to resort to a method (such as PDFT in CASTEP) that's capable of calculating phonon frequencies (vibration in solids) in order to derive vibrational intensities.
