Geology被主编reject了，想argue重投已有2人参与

没送审，直接拒了。 说我的附录（Data Repository）里面的图件对我的解释很重要，不应该认为是附录。地学的同行们都知道，Geology要求短小精悍，注重idea新颖，国内非常看重Geology杂志，地学领域的基本仅次于nature science PNAS了。 拒稿理由如下 “Your study is interesting, but it requires more space than GEOLOGY can provide. You have many figures in the DR that are called out in support of significant points in your manuscript. This indicates that the figures are not supplementary items for the data repository, but integral parts of your interpretation. GEOLOGY's policies on DR materials are quite clear (given in the online guide to authors). The 4-page manuscript must stand alone, independent of the DR, and DR files must be purely supplementary. A reader of the print journal should not need to refer to the DR in order to follow and evaluate the study. I suggest that you submit this work, in extended form, to a different journal. There, without GEOLOGY's space limitations, you will be able to fully present your data and interpretations. We estimate we will receive about 1400 manuscripts this year; we are able to publish about 260. The pressure of manuscript submission and our space limitations, coupled with our acceptance criteria, mean that we must reject many good articles each year. Thank you for your interest in GEOLOGY.” 我的附录确实有点啰嗦，投稿前略欠推敲，很多图其实是可有可无的，我放在那里，无非是想让读者掌握我的更详尽的数据，结果把自己坑了，第一次投Geology，以前都是常规杂志投稿，觉得附录里放得越详细越好。 当然这可能仅仅是个幌子，主编也许就没看上我的稿子（听说Geology对中国人的投稿有点偏见？纯中国作者的论文确实不多见） 有经验的同行们，我这个稿子argue一下，换个主编，重投Geology，是否有希望送审？重投是否值得尝试。我觉得我的idea挺好，为这篇稿子，准备了快一年了。 |
