Abstract: With strong acid ion exchange resin as catalyst, the esterification of salicylic acid was accelerated by microwave to formulate the pentyl salicylate. Both single factor experiment and orthogonal test were adopted to systematically investigate the synthetic technological conditions and to compare the reaction effect of different carbon chain alcohols within. The synthetic technique prevail with advantages including short reaction time, less side reaction, high esterification rate, simpleness of product treatment, and reusable catalyst. |
