Background
Within the frame of a collaborative project of the Waste and Disposal Expert group of the Belgian Nuclear Research Center (SCK•CEN, Belgium ) and the Catholic University of Louvain-La-Neuve (UCL, Belgium), we are looking for a for a motivated PhD candidate interested in the field of radioactive waste management and in performing laboratory/experimental work as well as computer modeling.

The Waste and Disposal expert group (Institute for Environment, Health and Safety) conducts research on nuclear waste, its surrounding engineered and natural barriers, and the migration/retention behavior of safety relevant radionuclides. It is composed of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists specialized in material sciences, geology, geochemistry, radiochemistry and reactive transport phenomena.
