Eight types of sinunoidal corrugated tubes of matching equivalent diameter but of different wave amplitudes and lengths were investigated under the simplified model of 2-dimension corrugated tube .
Room temperature water as the working fluid, and heat exchanging effects of various Reynolds numbers were simulated.
It proved that the heat exchanging efficiency of the tube has a significantly connection with the wave amplitude while a not-prominent relation with the wave length, and the causes were analysed by the field synergy principle. A further observation on ξ, the ratio of the wave amplitude and the wave length, shows that there is a greater heat exchange when ξ is between 0.25 and 0.30.
The optimal heat transfer structure and Re range was calculated by numerical analysis.
The results of the simulation show that, at lower Reynolds number there is a smaller PEC, which can be less than 1. The largest PEC can reach 1.3 when the Re is high.
Cracking good structure for reinforced sinunoidal corrugated tube heat transfer and optimal Reynolds number range have been obtained by numerical calculation. |
