It mainly studied the defects at coating/substrate interface in reference [19], and the interface had a considerable width. This paper mainly studied the defect both within coating and at interface between coating and substrate. So, in two papers, the temperature deviation of damping peaks was ¡À10 ¡ãC, but the changed trend damping with temperature was similar.

Therefore, in the PS coating / metal matrix structure, the damping peak appearing in the temperature of about 150 ¡ã C should be related with the defect. This provided some reference for the design analysis of the damping properties of the coating / substrate structure.

The cited reference [19] has mostly focused on the flaws at interface with a considerable width of interface layer. However, we mainly studied on the flaws at coating and interface, which lead to deviation£¨about 10¡æ£©of damping peaks between two papers, but the change trend of damping following with temperature mentioned in both paper was comparable.

Thereby it was initially thought flaws contributing to damping peak should exist in the PS coating / metal matrix structure system when the damping peak presented at about 150¡ãC.
