Job assignments Formation of protein inclusion bodies (aggregates) is linked with numerous neurodegenerative diseases. This project aims to advance our understanding of disease proteins' inclusion body formation machineries on a global level using the yeast high content screening system developed in the group and combining with conventional candidate gene approaches to un-cover potential targets for pharmaceutical developments of neurodegenerative disorders. The graduate student will be exposed to a broad spectrum of scientific tasks and questions related to the project and in turn a genuine interest in and knowledge of cell and molecular biology is required. Other experience with cellular imaging, high content screening, molecular biology, cell biology, functional genomics, chemical biology and biochemistry work as well as experience with using yeast as a model system is considered as an advantage. The applicant must be fluent in written and spoken English.
