The Meguellati/Yang Group is a multidisciplinary and highly innovative group located at Jilin University in Changchun. We are looking for a highly motivated organic chemist. Jilin University is among the best university in China with very impressive facilities, among the best students. Meguellati group is member of NMAC International Joint Laboratory and has several collaborations with top-level scientists including Professors Jean-Marie Lehn, Ned Seeman, Frank McKeon, Reza Ghadiri and is willing to develop top-level research and innovations. We will also design other kind of nanoparticles and vesicles in order to deliver specifically drugs to cancer cells. The aim of this research will also consist in the design of small molecules that can interact with biologically relevant DNA secondary structures such as the G-quadruplexes or triplexes or with G-actin monomer, hence interfering with cell replication and proliferation of cancer cells. Key-words: Chemical biology, Drug Design, Drug Delivery, Nanotechnology, Supramolecular Chemistry, Cancer , Dynamic Combinatorial Chemistry, Orthogonality, self-assembly, self-replicating, synthetic life, nanobots. 1. Main project (short term): Design of molecular nanomachines pH-sensitive for specific drug delivery to cancer cells. Design of rotaxane-based nanoparticles. Design of vesicles and nanoparticles with different levels i.e quantum dots with a core of Cd/Se and different shells of drugs coated by other shells of polyelectrolytes useful for specific drug delivery to cancer cells. 2. Long term: Design of templated-assisted synthetic G-quadruplexes that will be used as nuclease and useful for the development of the first G-quadruplex nucleome in combinaison of nucleic acid arrays and also for inducing cancer cells apoptosis. 3. Long term: Study of the different types of DNA polymorphisms via chemical reactions in order to understand the mechanism of transcription/replication: use of DNA as DNAzyme and nanoreactors. Perspectives: gene activation/deactivation without transcription factors. 4. Long term: Development of a new generation of autonomous artificial cells based on the concept of orthogonality with new supramolecular signalling pathways and chemical network……. |
