| Throughout the text, it may be clear that we will partly reject postmodernist claims that there is a rather free relationship between signifiers and signs. We retain the strong need to struggle with the relationship between social structures and culture or the fact that social institutions and social locations shape access to bodily subjectivities, health disparities, and objectifying processes. In Body Panic, we examine how masculinity and femininity are constituted relationally and are therefore prescribed different types of subjecthood and objecthood , how some bodies are better able to reposition themselves to achieve this access than others , how sexuality and race shape what kinds of subjects and objects individuals can become , and how the market itself plays a key role in shifting the terrain of gendered possibilities around ideal bodies and health. A critical part of the analysis centers on how a discourse of health is used to validate relational gender and engagement in consumer culture, and how healthism legitimates neoliberalism and consumerism. |

通观全文，我们可以明确的是将会部分地拒绝后现代主义者所声称的符号和标志之间有相当自由的关系。我们保留了与社会结构与社会机构之文化或现实、以及通往社会主体、健康差异和客体化过程之社会场所形态之间的关系作斗争的迫切需要。在恐慌条件下，我们研究男性和女性在关系上如何构成，因此确立不同类型主体与客体属性、为什么一部分人比另一部分人能更好地对自己重新定位、哪些类型的主体和客体可以成为何种性别和种族、以及市场本身在理想健康群体性别构成变迁中所发挥的重要作用。分析的一个重要组成部分是围绕如何用一种健康的语言去确证性别关系与消费文化的参与，以及 如何健康的论述是用来验证关系性别和参与文化消费中心，以及健康中心论如何使新自由主义和消费合法化。 |
