As seen in the photo, local peelings caused by structural spalling have appeared at the upper part of metal line in ASM (B). However, no
spalling is found in ASM (C). This indicates the enhancement when compared with AS (A).
Table 4 shows the comparison of physical properties and corrosion ratio between the AS (A) and ASM (C) after a field test in. The bulk
densities of both specimens are similar to each other, but the apparent porosity in ASM (C) has  been reduced 7% in comparison with
the AS (A). The corrosion rate of ASM (C) has improved by about 10% in comparison with AS (A) .It is judged that the formation of
spinel and CA6 has brought about the densification of the material during the use of magnesia-containing castables.

Furthermore, the proper addition of microsilica into castables could reduce the spalling by suppressing the excessive formation of CA6
at movable surface, which resulted in the extension of life time of the steel ladle.

如图所示, 由结构散裂而致的局部剥离现象在ASM (B)中[液面线]的上端出现了。然而,在ASM (C)中没有出现散烈现象。这表明,对比于AS(A),ASM (C)提高了。表4展示了,经历一现场测试后,AS (A)和ASM (C)的物理性质和腐蚀比率的对比情况。两样本的体积密度相似,但对比于AS(A),ASM(C)中的明显孔隙减少了7%,而腐蚀速率增加了约10%。这就可判断,在使用含镁的浇注材料时,尖晶石和CA6的形成使其更加致密。

此外,通过抑制在移动面上形成过量的CA6,在浇注材料中添加适量的硅粉可以减少散裂,从而延长钢水包的寿命。
