| In this the solubility of sodium chromate in methanol - water mixed solvent is measured since sodium chromate is basically insoluble in methanol but soluble in water. In addition, the solubility of sodium chromate is determined with the balanced method because the rate of dissolution of sodium chromate in the above mentioned solvent becomes slow progressively as a function of the increased concentration of sodium chromate, being extremely slow when the concentration of sodium chromate is approaching saturation, making it takes a very long time to perform the tests. |

| As sodium chromate can’t dissolve in methyl alcohol, but easily in water, the author measures the solubility of sodium chromate dissolving in mixed solvents of methyl alcohol and water. Meanwhile, dissolution rates of sodium chromate in above solvents usually decrease with the increase of the concentration, and when it is near saturated, the rate is really very slow, and thus the time required for measuring is comparatively long. Therefore, for this shortcoming, the balance method is utilized for measuring the solubility of sodium chromate in this paper. |
