    Microcracks within the tialite phase and differences in the thermal expansion coefficients of aluminum titanate and magnesium aluminate spinel are assumed to contribute to the improved thermal shock resistance of the spinel ceramic containing aluminum titanate.

    SUMMARY
    Based on the positive results of investigations on AZT ceramic, the addition of Al2TiO5 has been shown to improve the thermal shock resistance of alumina-rich magnesium aluminate spinel. In comparison with the pure spinel ceramic, the initial strength of the as-sintered ceramic is lowered, but the retained strength after repeated quenching is increased by aluminum titanate.

详细的相分析是一个正在进行研究的主题。首先根据XRD的结果,在热冲击实验中钛酸铝相没有发生分解。铝假板钛矿相内微裂隙以及钛酸铝和铝酸镁尖晶石的热膨胀系数的不同被认为有助于改善含钛酸铝尖晶石陶瓷的耐热震性。
图3毛坯(未烧结)尖晶石样品的断裂面:a) 不含Al2TiO5  b)含Al2TiO5。基于能量色散谱(EDS)的元素分析, “A”点的组成可以归因于铝酸镁尖晶石, “B” 点的组成则为钛酸铝。
总结
基于AZT陶瓷研究的积极结果,添加Al2TiO5被证明能改善富Al2O3铝酸镁尖晶石的抗热震性能。与纯尖晶石陶瓷相比,毛坯(未烧结)陶瓷的初始(早期)强度降低,但重复淬火后残留强度由于钛酸铝增加了。
