向自然子刊投稿的失败经历

通过对核实验数据的大量分析,在壳模型和结团模型的基础上,建立了一个原子核的三维模型。这个模型在核自旋、宇称和结合能的解释方面都比壳模型有了更大的成功(有大量的数据支持), 因此,斗胆投给自然子刊"自然物理"。收到收稿信后的15天,我收到了编辑的拒稿信。 下面贴出来请大家给看一下: Dear Dr Qin Thank you for submitting your manuscript entitled "The three-dimensional structure of atomic nuclei". However, we regret that we are unable to publish it in Nature. It is Nature's policy to decline a substantial proportion of manuscripts without sending them to referees, so that they may be sent elsewhere without delay. Decisions of this kind are made by the editorial staff when it appears that papers are unlikely to succeed in the competition for limited space. Among the considerations that arise at this stage are the length of a manuscript, its likely interest to a general readership of scientists, the pressure on space in the various fields of Nature's interest and the likelihood that a manuscript would seem of great topical interest to those working in the same or related areas of science. In the present case, while your proposed nuclear model may prove stimulating to fellow specialists, I regret that we are unable to conclude that the paper provides a sufficiently clear advance in scientific understanding to be likely to excite the immediate interest of researchers in a broad range of other disciplines. We therefore feel that the present paper would find a more appropriate outlet in a specialist journal, rather than Nature. I am sorry that we cannot respond more positively, but I hope that you will rapidly receive a more favourable response elsewhere.
