(感谢奖赏) 二楼给的 factor 定义很好: "Factor = a quantity by which a stated quantity is multiplied or divided" <1> "倍数" 说明也对: increased by a factor of 3 = multiplied by 3 = 乘 3 = 增加3 https://www.answers.com/Q/What_d ... _a_factor_of_4_mean "减少3倍" 就不对了... 根据原定义 <1> reduced by a factor of 3 = divided by 3 = 除以 3 = 原来数的 1/3 https://www.whatis1q5a.com/174/w ... ctor-of-4-mean.html 提示: - "倍" 就是增加,不要听 "__减少速度是___[减少速度]的两倍" 胡言,养成坏习惯来形容减少 - 像 "__ is the best" 或 "__ is better" 都是无稽之谈 - 日常英语不说 "increased/reduced by a factor of __" 说 [以股票价为例 "rise/fall by __%" <= "__" = 原数外加/内扣 多少多少 - 增加2倍=double the original; 3倍=triple; 4倍=quadruple; __倍 =__ times the original - 去了一半=cut to half of the original; 去了2/3=cut to a third of the original - 去了3/4=cut to a quarter of the original; 去了90%=cut to a tenth of the original |

Factor = a quantity by which a stated quantity is multiplied or divided, so as to indicate an increase or decrease in a measurement "by a factor of " is used commonly to mean the same as "multiplied by" or "divided by." reduce the production by a factor of 3. 减少3倍 is increased by a factor of 3. 增加3倍 （中文可表示为：增加了2倍或增加到3倍） |
