Project title: Propane and Isobutane oxidations to (meth) acrylic acidsSummary


Selective oxidation of propane to acrylic acid and isobutane to methacrylic acid using formulations based on multicomponent mixtures  of Mo, V, Nb, Te, Sb, Ta, Ge, alkali metals and transition metals containing organic inorganic material for low temperature oxidations prepared by solvo thermal and hydrothermal synthesis techniques. The controlled variation of the crystal structure, the morphology, and the chemical composition allows deriving quantitative structure-activity relationships that will help designing the next generations of catalysts and adapted operating conditions.

Potential catalysts are investigated by means of in situ IR and RAMAN spectroscopy monitoring the interaction with propane/propene and isobutane/isobutene with surface functional groups functional species under the respective reaction conditions. Physico-chemical characterizations like the X-ray diffractograms, BET specific surface area, chemical composition, SEM, TEM, XPS and the acidic (adsorption/desorption of ammonia) and the basic properties (adsorption of CO2) and the redox properties (adsorption/desorption of O2, temperature programmed reaction with propane/isobutane) are also carried out.

2. He might use gold nano-particles which is very hot recently, but it is very, very difficult since it is much easy to oxidize methanol than methane
