Description

Energy and Environment Fusion Technology Center (E2FTC) of Myongji University is funded by University Key Research Center Program managed by National Research Foundation of Korea for next 7 years with majors in marine biomass conversion, biofuels and biochemicals production, biochemical engineering, catalytic reaction engineering, polymeric membranes, and inorganic membranes application related with a production of biofuels and biorefinery products.
The E2FTC Laboratory is currently seeking for PhD or combined MS-PhD students in the following area:
(2) Biotechnology (two students);
Research will be focused on the biorefinery production using recombinant bacteria from diverse carbohydrates.
Qualifications
• Qualified MS-PhD candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent (Bioengineering, Metabolic Engineering, etc.).

• Qualified PhD candidates should have a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or Bioengineering or equivalent (Metabolic Engineering, Biotechnology, Synthetic biology etc.).

• Experiences on metabolic engineering and other bio-related technology are preferred.

• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary research team and to work under Research supervisor(s).

Salary and Other Benefits
Studentship will start on Fall semester (September 2014). The monthly stipend will depend on the candidate’s qualifications.
