We take the 2,6--di-tert-butyl phenol (DTBP) as raw material. After the nitrosation reaction and the reduction reaction, we could get the di-tert-butyl-4-aminophenol (DTBAP). Through the single factors test system, we consider the condition of reaction technology, and get the conclusion: (1) the nitrosation reaction: we can get the products at the rate up to 90% above, if we make 95% ethanol as the solvent, thick hydrochloride as acidification reagents; the amount of the sodium nitrite is 1.25~1.50 times of the Moore volume of the DTBP, the reaction temperature between 15 and 20; reaction time is 2.0~2.5 h. (2) the reduction reaction: we can get the products at the rate up to 92%, if we make the sodium dithionite as the reductant, the reaction temperature between 50 and 55; the amount of the sodium dithionite is more than 2.8 times of the Moore volume of 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-nitrosophenol. The preparation method is simple, of a mild reaction conditions, easy to control and easy to separate the products, of high total yield, cheap and easy to get the raw materials, low production costs.
