It should be a process amount that can reflect the changing process of coal from the initial oxygen uptake thermogenesis to the beginning of accelerated oxidation. And the activation energy is exactly the process indicator which can weigh the complexity of this process. Therefore, this paper has collected some coal sample from the 15th coal seam of Jiarui coal mine, and used the differential scanning calorimeter to conduct the low-temperature oxidation thermoanalysis experiment of coal under the condition of different coal particle size, different heating rate and different oxygen concentration. According to Arrhenius equation, we have analyzed the characteristics of coal oxidation reaction and deduced the computing method of activation energy of the coal low-temperature oxidation process. According to the method we have calculated activation energy of the coal low-temperature oxidation process under the different experimental conditions. The experimental result shows that the smaller the coal particle size is, the smaller the predictive value of coal activation energy will be, and the easier to catch fire, namely the spontaneous combustion tendency will increase. And the bigger the heating rate is, the bigger the predictive value of coal activation energy will be.
