As a special time-varied, non-uniform, distributed, weak-scattering medium, not only does the study of the scattering characteristics of wake vortices deserve much attention in theoretical aspect, but also it plays an important role in the development of corresponding radar detection technology. Currently, there are generally three approaches to measure the scattering capability of wake vortices: volume reflectivity, line reflectivity and radar cross section (RCS). However, the physical essences of these approaches, as well as their relationships and transformations, remain uninvestigated.
