The screening and breeding of herbicide-tolerant rice and the finding of effective additives is of importance to highly effective, economical and safe use of herbicides . Our recent results found that japonica rice show higher sensitivity to bispyribac-sodium than indica rice. Futher analysis indicated that it is due to theer , such as the activity of glutathione S-transferase (GST), contents of cytochrome P450 and cytochrome b5, related gene expression of GSTU9 and CYP72A23 after treatment of bispyribac-sodium.Thus, the different amounts of GSH, GSSG or CytP450 of indica and japonica rice were determined after treatment of bispyribac-sodium. The differences of GST and CytP450 between indica and japonica rice were measured , such as the activities of GST and CytP450, gene sequence, gene expression and protein level of GSTU9 and CYP72A23, in order to elucidate the role of GST and CytP450 in the indica and japonica rice different sensitivities of bispyribac-sodium.Through analysis of related mutants, the function of GSTU9 and CYP72A23 in different sensitivities of indica and japonica rice will be further investigated in this project.The activity inducers or inhibitors were screened for the effective use of bispyribac-sodium .These findings will not only reveal the scientific significance of the mechanism of indica and japonica GST and CytP450 different Bispyribac sensitivity , but also provide a scientific basis for the efficient and safe use of Bispyribac in rice fields.
