A solution of 1.88 g (5.2 mmol) of 8b in 15 ml of benzene was stirred at room temp. treated with 1.20 g (8.7 mmol) of PCl3 and stirred for 1 h. All the volatile constituents were removed under the vaccum and the pale yellow residue was dissolved in benzene / dichloromethane (1: 1) .Pentane was added to the clear solution until the commencement of crystallization. Yield. 1.85 g (91%).
