Subject: 9 phd positions in functional materials Category: Job From: Matthieu Verstraete Date: 25-Nov-2013 11:10 Message: The IDS-funmat announces 9 open PhD positions, to be filled by 10 Feb 2014. Each position is for 3 years, with full bursary, benefits, travel funds, and usually relocation expenses. IDS-funmat is an Erasmus-Mundus doctoral school funded by the European Union and local governments to pursue experimental and theoretical research in functional materials (oxides, semiconductors, biomaterials, solar cells, thermoelectrics etc...). The EU network is linked to the FAME masters program and the European Multifunctional Materials Institute. Each position is shared between two institutions in the network, promoting scientific exchanges and mobility for all of the researchers involved. Each project is linked to an industrial partner, in order to expose the PhD candidate to real-life applications and the inner workings of industrial R&D. There are no nationality constraints on applications. Applicants should have a master's degree or equivalent in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science/Engineering, or other appropriate field.
